    Women Leaders in Sports (Women Leaders) recognized its annual award recipients for 2025 today, honoring outstanding women who are transforming leadership in the sports industry. Among the honorees is Sonja O. Stills, Commissioner of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), who was named a Nike Executive of the Year Award recipient.

This event was held in partnership with the National Football League (NFL), Wells Fargo and MSU.

  • MEAC Tennis Champions Literacy with Read and Feed Book Drive

    The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), in collaboration with the tennis coaches and student athletes of the eight member institutions, collected children’s books for donation to Read and Feed during the 2025 MEAC Tennis Championships. Together, new and gently used books were collected for students in grades K–5 in Cary, N.C., and the surrounding community.

    Howard University captured both the Talmadge Layman Hill Men’s All-Sports Award and the Mary McLeod Bethune Women’s All-Sports Award, the conference announced on Thursday, June 1.

  • MEAC Announces Wells Fargo as Corporate Sponsor

    As part of this new partnership, Wells Fargo gave $100,000 to the MEAC Foundation during the 2023 MEAC Basketball Tournament, making this the largest corporate donation to date.

  • MEAC Launches Second Annual Toy Drive Challenge

    Today, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) launched its second annual Toy Drive Challenge in partnership with Toys for Tots. Each of the conference’s eight member institutions are hosting a toy drive on their respective campuses and serving as drop sites for children’s toy donations for the holidays in their local communities.
